Economic Stimulus Brings Promise of EMRs to Doctors Nationwide
gloStream Doctors Are Truly Meaningful Users
In July, 2010 the Federal government added further definition to the electronic medical record incentives that are part of the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The ARRA provides more than $20 billion in incentives to Medicare and Medicaid providers who are “meaningful users” of certified EMR technology.
gloStream has long been dedicated to ensuring our technology meets the highest levels of security, functionality and interoperability. We’re one of just a few companies with products certified by the Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT) in 2006, 2007 and 2008 - the only years that CCHIT has offered full certification. In fact, gloEMR 6.0 is ONC-ATCB certified and gloStream was one of the very first EMR companies to put a product through the certification testing process.
gloDNA is the Path to Truly Meaningful Use
Meaningful use as defined by the government is about setting requirements for EMR software. We look at this requirement differently. Yes, we’ll have everything the government requires for our practice customers to be eligible for the stimulus payments. But “meaningful use” is about far more than just meeting government requirements. To us it’s about making sure our clients are completely comfortable and productive using their EMR and getting the results that they want and need. gloStream’s innovative gloDNA process, which has given us a 100% success rate, allows us to understand the needs of the practice so that gloEMR can be configured for the way the individual doctors practice medicine that’s what we call “truly meaningful use."
gloDNA starts with an in-depth review of the Practice and doctor needs and expectations of the practice during the initial Consult phase. During the Practice Scan we gather quantitative, objective information about the practice. This combination of what the practice professionals tell us and what we gather about the practice infrastructure and operation allow us to build a customized solution and recommend process changes that help smooth the transition to a digital environment and ultimately become much more productive and efficient.
Following a customized implementation plan that we call “Protocol” the gloDNA process also includes a Wellness phase that’s all about making sure our clients continue to be “truly meaningful” users." This wellness phase relies on the solid support they receive from a gloStream Partner who lives in the local community and is available when needed to solve a problem solve onsite.
